In this third and final CNMF Beo performance, the content and format is quite unique. Composers at the Charlotte New Music Festival will have been given one week to compose a brand new, short piece with a limited set of parameters that are not revealed until the beginning of the festival. Once the pieces have been finished, Beo will have three days to learn and then perform each of these ‘miniatures’. Following the performance, the audience will get to vote on which they think is the winning piece and the composer of the winning piece will receive a special prize. Think of it as a high-wire act without a net.
